Right so October was manic! It started off with a week off from work where we attempted to explore the city of Tianjin more and were greeted with Chinese tourists on mass – Note to self: Don’t explore China during Golden Week. (see video below!)
What’s up?
Anyways, it was my birthday this month AND we embarked on BLOGTOBER – a full month of blogging. That’s right, a new blog EVERY DAY…. KINDA. It was going really well, I even wrote and shared a blog on my Birthday, after coming back at 10pm from a Birthday meal out. But then, parents evening hit. Last week I spent more time at school than I did my apartment so something had to give – Sorry guys!
But, I am super proud of the posts I did share in the first 23 days of the month and then the last two days of the month! Check them out!!

Blog Numbers and Goals
Yay, this month I felt super positive about our blog. We had some great guest posts and interviews and have increased our work with companies and hotels.
Our website is consistently getting around 20K page views a month which I didn’t dream of a year ago, when we first started this little ole’ blog!
Both our Twitter and Pinterest social pages have over 2000 followers and our Facebook page is so nearly there – GO FOLLOW! GO FOLLOW!
Love and Hate
This month, I have had a month of happiness!
Happiness training – So, as part of our Continued Professional Development, my school gave us an Inset Day that included waving wands around, wiggling our fingers in play dough and breaking into dance every 15 minutes. This definitely set my week off well (apart for the fact the inset was on a Sunday and happened to be the weekend before parents evening week).
Birthday Love – My class, my TA, my colleagues, my family and of course, Calum, were so loving and gave me the best birthday yet. It was full of cake and laughter and Calum and I celebrated at an amazing Japanese restaurant after – more details on that soon!
Favourite blogs of the month!
Cambodia on a Budget – As we are now so much nearer to one of my fave countries, I have been thinking about Cambodia a lot. This budget guide is so helpful, again with some awesome detailed priced.
Top 50 things to do in Vienna – OK, Vienna has been on my bucket list for some time, so much so that I am trying to find a way I can visit whilst we are home at Christmas. This list has inspired me to book a trip!
Travel Wedding Proposal Idea – Calum proposed to me on the balcony of our Las Vegas Suite, presenting me with an adorable ‘trailer’ for a movie of our relationship (so cute!). Anyways, this post is a must for anyone looking to propose to that special someone.
Hates – Pollution (Really feeling it as the winter hits North China) and my lack of knowledge for Chinese (Taxi drivers, shop assistants, bar staff etc must think I am mental when all I keep saying to them in Chinese is Hello, Hello, Hello and Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Highlight of the month
My awesome Birthday! 🙂 oh and discovering I can order cider on TaoBao (the Chinese Ebay).
Top Instagram Post
I love this shot Calum took of the Maid of the Mist in Niagara Falls.
What’s next?
Right, well we are heading to Xi’an next weekend! I have a few days off from work so we are going to head there for Calum’s birthday. I intend to eat lots of amazing food and explore the city walls.
At some point we will visit Beijing! It will happen! We will also continue are exploration of the Tianjin sights and restaurants; of which I promise I will share VERY soon!
It is nearly Christmas! Who would think it?!
Thank you again for all our amazing readers! We appreciate all your support, comments and follows across social media! We hope you have enjoyed our monthly round up! Lots of love!
