As we face an unprecedented situation that has resulted in no travel, many people are losing jobs and money as well as having a copious amount of time indoors, we thought it was a great time to share how to make money online for beginners, for those wanting to earn extra cash from home.
If you are a native English speaker, you can become a TEFL teacher.
You will need some type of TEFL qualification for this, you can jump online websites like Groupon have some really great deals on cheap, affordable online courses, where you can learn how to teach English online as well.
Now, once you have this qualification, which shouldn’t take you too long – Courses are generally between 120 to 160 hours and if you’re doing this course part-time, spending a few hours every evening doing it, you’ll probably get it done in like two or three weeks. It’s not a long qualification at all. You can get it done quite quickly. But once you get this qualification you can apply for companies online.
There are lots of TEFL companies looking for teachers, especially with the current situation in the world. Check out companies such as:
Dave’s ESL Cafe (great place to find TEFL jobs)
This is a way that you can earn extra cash online by reviewing websites. You can sign up for an account at usertesting.com and you will recieve an email every time a test is avaliable for you to do.
You basically go onto a website, you’re given a scenario, and you have to explain your thought process as you’re using the website. It doesn’t take long; between 10 to 15 minutes, but you have to be able to have a microphone or some type of mic in your laptop that will pick up your speech.
The idea is, you complete the scenarios whilst voicing your thoughts aloud, explaining how you’re feeling about the look of a website, giving feedback about where the buttons are, and whether you like the feel of it or not. Those types of things.
It’s a really easy way to make a little bit of extra cash, especially when you’re travelling and you want something to give you an extra boost so that you can get to that next place.
Typically, you will get paid $10 per website review you complete.
Matched betting is a great option for those that are interested in sports and have some experince of online gambling.
It’s a system that involves the Sports exchange, where you place more than one bet to minimise risk and to make sure that any losses are covered.
We wrote a blog post that explains this in detail here: Making Money Online: What is Matched Betting? A Profit Accumulator Review
This is not a way that you will earn a lot of money but it is a way you can earn a bit of extra cash over time with very little difficulty.
There are many different websites out there that will pay you a small amount to answer various surveys about anything – it could be about your weekly supermarket shop, your electricity, your thoughts on gardening; literally anything.
Some good websites to start with are:
Online market trading
Another option is online market trading. Now there’s some really good websites that explain how to do this well.
eToro is probably one of the most popular ones. I have not a stock market expert at all. There are ways that you can earn money by using the stock markets online to invest your own money into the market and monitor the stocks to make a profit.
This option is more complicated than others and takes some time to understand but once you learn the skills, you should be able to earn quite a bit of money using this option. Plus, you can use it from anywhere in the world, you can get an app for your phone to help you too.
I call these the get-paid-to sites because there are lots of sites that you get paid doing certain activities. For example, you may make a few pounds by signing up for a subscription to Netflix, it maybe that you earn pennies by ordering a free SIM card or completing a survey.
Swag bucks is a great website to start with for these types of sites – again, don’t expect to earn loads of money but spending an hour here or there can really build up your income.
Clearly, we love blogging.
Blogging is a great way to share your expertise on a topic you are passionate about and earn money doing so. You can use advertising on your site (like the ads you see dotted around this page), include affiliate links to earn commission and create your own products to sell.
My next option is Qmee.
Qmee is a company that will pay you when you’re doing searches on Google, Yahoo or Bing, you just have to download the Chrome extension on your browser and it will pay you every time you search for something.
Create a product
Next up is write and publish your own product.
This could be an ebook, this could be a course or even a planner of some sort. If you have some really great knowledge about something that you think people are looking for, you can jump onto websites like Udemy and sell your courses.
Alternatively, you can write an e-book and/or self-publish it through Amazon. These are some really great ways to earn extra income, especially if you already have some type of audience online. So if you are a blogger, if you have a big Instagram following, this is a great way for you to kind of harness those followers and sell something to them they might really appreciate.
Another option is drop-shipping which this youtuber explains below.
Clickworker is an online platform that offers lots of different types of jobs. Most of these will be admin based so you can do them on your laptop at home. But the main thing is that you have to do them quickly. People who are putting jobs out this website want there work done within a few days, so make sure you keep an eye on the website and look for new opportunities.
