During our stay in Washington, D.C., we booked ourselves some front row (yes! front row!) seats to a Washington Nationals game. The stadium was really easy to get to and everyone was so friendly! We spent far too much money in the store and headed to our seats kitted head to toe in red merchandise – such tourists!
We wandered around, having no idea where we were going and looking for a uniformed person to direct us to our seats – Lesson 1, must remember we are at a baseball game and not a Broadway show. Actually use eyesight to find seats!
We arrived in our seats and lots of local fans started talking to us, asking us how long we had been fans and who our favourite player is… Lesson 2 – Before decking yourself out in the team colours and bagging front row seats, figure out who the good players are and actually watch a game on TV beforehand!
I won’t even pretend I understood the rules of the game but it was fun and the atmosphere was great. I loved the presidential run (giant mascots competing in a lap around the field) and we even made it to the big screen singing “Take Me Out To The Ballgame!”.
Highlight of our trip to Washington, D.C.!
