Paris is one of the most popular tourist spots because it has so many museums, monuments, and fashion companies that are known all over the world. However, you shouldn’t limit yourself to Paris while visiting France, especially if you have to get an ETIAS for France

Cities from the Middle Ages, Alpine towns, and Mediterranean shores all await you in this glorious country. Enjoy fine dining and Champagne and Bordeaux wines while taking in the sights and sounds of opulent palaces, historic landmarks, bustling cities, and peaceful countryside. Here are some of the top reasons to visit France.

free things to do in Paris

Paris

You could spend your whole holiday in the City of Love and yet find new things to marvel at around every corner. There is no end to the plethora of tourist hotspots, from historical buildings and museums to the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland.

It’s impossible to get tired of strolling Paris’s charming streets. Spend the day in the Louvre Museum admiring Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic Mona Lisa painting, and then conclude the day with dinner at a cozy café near the Eiffel Tower. Sounds perfect, right?

Cruise along the Seine

At Honfleur, the Seine empties into the English Channel near some of Paris’ most famous landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. It goes through Normandy’s green countryside, which is home to a lot of livestock and apple orchards.

You can enjoy Normandy’s famed seafood, sweets, and Calvados liquor while on the cruise, as well as local brie and cider. In addition to Monet’s tranquil garden in Giverny, the majestic Château de La Roche-Guyon is another must-see along the Seine.

Scenic rural areas

The biggest country in Western Europe, France offers a wide variety of stunning natural scenery. Here, you can see a wide range of landscapes, from hills with vineyards to wild rivers, high mountains to wide beaches, and active volcanoes to deep gorges.

France has a lot of different places to see, like the tall volcanoes of the Massif Central, the beautiful lavender fields of Provence, the dizzying heights of the Alps, and the calm lakes of the Limousin. Also, France is full of picture-perfect towns with old buildings and busy markets; our favorite place to explore is the beautiful village of Tourtour. The natural beauty of France’s countryside is one of the country’s top-selling points.

The Eiffel Tower at night

After the sun sets and darkness falls over Paris, the Eiffel Tower lights up and sparkles until 1 a.m. Its light is visible for kilometers.

From mid-June to the end of August, the Eiffel Tower is open every evening until midnight. When the Eiffel Tower is lit up at night or in the late afternoon, it’s a unique experience that people who visit during the day will be sad to miss.

We suggest going down to the ground floor, the second story, or wherever in between to obtain the finest view of the sunset. At night, the city of Paris is beautifully lit, making for a breathtaking sight. In one miraculous instant, your perspective on the City of Lights will shift forever.

A gourmet gold mine

French food is a cornerstone of the gastronomic world. France has a stellar reputation not only for its unique and decadent flavors but also for its priceless recipes and cooking skills. Indulge your taste buds and try some of the regional specialties of France. Croissants, baguettes, shellfish, and more than 400 kinds of cheese will make you want to relocate permanently to France!

Monte Carlo

The French Riviera is an indelible feature of France thanks to its glittering oceans, pleasant temperature, and glitzy resorts. Along this stretch of coast, you can visit places like Nice, with its long beach, flower market, old town, and museums; Cagnes-sur-Mer, which is known for its horse races; and Antibes, a port that Picasso used to frequent.

An ideal way to sample the opulence of Monte Carlo is on a cruise along the French Riviera. Film lovers should spend some time at Cannes, while those in Saint-Tropez could relax at a sidewalk café and watch the beautiful people passing by. Cassis, a fishing town east of Marseilles, is a common inclusion on cruise itineraries due to its shingle beaches and pastel-colored harbor buildings.
