Conestoga Ranch, Utah Unique camping sites

Conestoga Ranch, UT

If you venture just outside Garden City, Utah, you’ll find the Conestoga Ranch Resort. This one is more on the glamping side rather than the camping side, but it is one to check out. Nestled right along Bear Lake’s breathtakingly blue waters, this resort encompasses 18 acres of beautiful nature. This is the perfect spot to set up a Tentsile tree tent and camp between the branches. For those looking at camping with children, Conestoga Ranch is a great place to start.

Crater of Diamonds State Park, AR

Want to try your luck and see if you can get rich on your next camping trip? The Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas is one of the only places worldwide where you can search and keep real diamonds from their volcanic source and makes for the perfect weekend away in the USA. Since its opening in 1972, there have been more than 33 100 diamonds found by visitors! However, that’s not all there is to enjoy. With picnic sites, walking trails, and a water park for hot days. This is a destination like no other. Just watch out for those spiders in Arizona!

Hot Springs unique camping sites

Mystic Hot Springs, UT

Another Utah destination, Mystic Hot Springs, is the perfect place to celebrate with friends. Campsites are affordable, and with so many music festivals and events nearby, you will never want to leave. You can spend your days hiking and fishing and then come back to relax in one of the natural hot springs. Your days will never be dull!

Unicoi State Park, GA

Unicoi State Park & Lodge lies just two miles northeast of Alpine Helen in the stunning North Georgia Mountain Range. Lake Unicoi is enveloped by the unbelievably serene Chattahoochee National Forest, which will be all around you during your unforgettable camping trip to the great outdoors. This ranch is complete with unparalleled hiking trails, trout fishing spots, zip-lining, and mountain biking trails – just pack up your much-needed RV gear recommended by Outdoors Era and hit the road!

Assateague Island National Seashore, MD

If you want to enjoy the ocean breeze on your next camping trip, then look no further than the Assateague Island National Seashore in Maryland. Alongside all the great activities such as kayaking, cycling, crabbing, and fishing, you can catch a glimpse at all the wild horses that thrive on the island. The best part is, that camping is permitted year-round, so you never have to worry about missing out.

Unique camping sites

Borealis Basecamp, AK

Less than an hour from Fairbanks, you’ll find the Borealis Basecamp, which is home to one of the most unique camping experiences. You can spend the night in an incredible igloo that allows you to view the Northern Lights without distractions. It may not be the most traditional camping accommodation, but with little people and breathtaking nature all around, it certainly deserves a spot on this list.

Turtle Rock Hollow unique camping sites

Turtle Rock Hollow, NY

Turtle Rock Hollow is located in New York City, which may come as a surprise to you. However, it is a hidden paradise you simply have to experience first-hand! This next-level nature retreat offers three masterfully crafted micro cabins and even a tepee for those who don’t want to camp in a tent.

If you would like to try your hand at camping, though, they are more than happy to accommodate and offer kitchen appliances, restroom facilities, and showers. Turtle Rock Hollow is pet-friendly, so there is no need to leave your poor pup at home, bring them with you, and bond as a whole family.

Floyd Bennett Field, NY

Floyd Bennett Field is an old airfield that lies southeast of Brooklyn in New York City, along the shore of Jamaica Bay. This airport used to host commercial flights before it started being used as a naval air station. This defunct airfield is now included as part of the Gateway National Recreation Area, which spans almost 30 000 acres over two states and includes a vast estuary – the perfect place to make camp history. There is so much to experience and see here that you will need to make more than one trip.
