This Las Vegas bucket list covers the best attractions, casinos, restaurants, bars, and day trips, so you don’t miss a thing on your trip.
We love Vegas! After visiting multiple times, we still find ourselves checking out something new or exploring a different area. There are endless restaurants to enjoy, plenty of shows to watch and of course, you need to rent a car and explore the stunning landscapes nearby too.
From the best day trips from Las Vegas to the best Vegas buffets, we share 100 things to do in Sin City, so let’s get started!
Las Vegas Bucket List
1. The Strip
Of course, we have to begin with the strip itself. Driving or walking up and down this iconic stretch is the most popular thing to do and is home to many of the attractions mentioned in this list.
Famous for its neon-lit casinos, hotels, and nonstop entertainment, Las Vegas Boulevard is the heart of the city. Walk the Strip to enjoy lively attractions, from street performances to upscale shopping and unique dining.
We also recommend checking out the best hotels in Vegas and booking one as close to the center of the strip as you can; we love the Flamingo for a cheap and cheerful option
2. Bellagio Fountains
Another must on your Las Vegas bucket list, has to be the Bellagio Fountains. Watch this mesmerizing water show that combines music, lights, and choreographed fountains reaching up to 460 feet.
Located in front of the Bellagio Hotel, it’s one of the most iconic and romantic spectacles on the Strip and a great free thing to do in Las Vegas.
3. High Roller Observation Wheel
Take in 360-degree views of Las Vegas from one of the world’s tallest observation wheels. Each pod offers a smooth ride with a 30-minute loop, perfect for photos of the skyline, and the entrance is included in the Las Vegas Go Pass.
4. Fremont Street Experience
Known for its overhead LED canopy, Fremont Street is another must on your Las Vegas bucket list. The street features dazzling light shows, live music, and street performers alongside fun casinos, themed bars, and extravagant restaurants.
This historic downtown area captures the vintage Vegas vibe with modern entertainment.
5. Caesars Palace
There are plenty of incredible hotels in Vegas and Caesars Palace is arguably one of the most famous. With Roman architecture and luxury amenities, Caesars Palace is a Vegas staple.
It offers everything from high-end shopping to Michelin-star dining and classic Vegas shows. Enjoy world-class entertainment at The Colosseum, home to iconic shows and concerts from top performers. Plus, some of the best places to eat in Las Vegas can be found here!
6. The Venetian Canals
Another beautiful hotel on the strip and a Las Vegas bucket list must; The Venetian, home to incredible canals.
Experience Venice with an indoor gondola ride through the Venetian’s canals. This hotel recreates Italian charm with street performers and quaint bridges, with options to take a ride through the shopping mall inside the hotel or along the outside of the hotel.
7. The Strat
Soaring over 1,100 feet, The Strat (formerly the Stratosphere) offers thrill rides at the top with panoramic views. We love the Top of the World revolving restaurant, which offers breathtaking views of Vegas and the surrounding desert but you can also experience thrill rides from the top too! You can ride the Big Shot, X-Scream, or SkyJump if you’re feeling adventurous.
8. Neon Museum
A lesser-known Las Vegas bucket list item is one of my favorite things to do in Vegas; the Neon Museum. Dedicated to preserving vintage neon signs, this museum captures the history of Las Vegas in brilliant lights.
You can take a guided tour to see retired signs from classic casinos and hotels and we recommend booking an evening tour for a magical experience.
9. Mob Museum
The Mob Museum is a fascinating option, often overlooked on many Las Vegas bucket list. This museum delves into the dark and intriguing history of organized crime in America.
Located in downtown Vegas, the museum features interactive exhibits on mob figures and law enforcement, creating an engaging experience for visitors.
10. Paris Las Vegas Eiffel Tower
There are many romantic things to do in Las Vegas and visiting the Eiffel Tower is one of them.
The half-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower offers gorgeous views of the Strip, especially at night. Enjoy romantic views from the top or dine in the Parisian-inspired restaurant.
You could also choose to stay in the hotel here, with modern, stylish rooms, a large outdoor pool, a luxury casino, and plenty of places to eat within the hotel and nearby.
11. MGM Grand
This colossal resort houses everything from a sprawling casino to high-energy shows and a nightclub. It’s known for its lively pool complex, restaurants, and luxurious spa but we always check out the DJ in Hakkasan; a lively nightclub located here.
12. Luxor Pyramid
Famous for its Egyptian theme, the Luxor boasts a huge pyramid and massive Sphinx statue, giving it a spot on this Las Vegas bucket list.
Inside, you’ll find world-class entertainment, including Blue Man Group and exhibitions like Titanic. There are various eateries and restaurants inside and this isn’t a bad hotel option for those visiting on a budget but looking to stay on the strip.
13. Cirque du Soleil Shows
Cirque du Soleil’s shows in Las Vegas, like O and Mystère, are known for stunning visuals and acrobatics. Whenever we visit Vegas, we make sure to check out one of these spectacular circus performances; my favorite has to be LOVE but unfortunately, with The Mirage closing, this is no longer being performed in Vegas.
My second favorite is ONE, the performance to Michael Jackson’s hits.
14. ARIA Fine Art Collection
With installations from artists worldwide, ARIA’s collection enriches the Strip with fine contemporary art. The installations are spread throughout the resort, making it a unique cultural experience.
This is an overlooked luxury hotel on the strip but we love Aria and The Cosmopolitan for their luxury, charming vibe.
15. The Cosmopolitan’s Chandelier Bar
One of the more romantic things to do in Vegas for couples is the Chandelier Bar. This three-story bar surrounds guests in a glittering chandelier of crystals and is a must on your Las Vegas bucket list.
16. Wynn Las Vegas
This luxury resort offers high-end shopping, golf, and one of the most famous pool areas in Las Vegas. Its lush landscaping and vibrant floral displays make it one of the most beautiful resorts on the Strip.
This is an elegant hotel which should be explored at least once during your visit.
17. Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay
Located in the Mandalay Bay, the Shark Reef Aquarium is a fun Las Vegas bucket list item, especially when traveling with kids. Walk through a tunnel surrounded by water to see sharks, rays, and tropical fish up close.
18. Helicopter Tour of the Strip
For the best views of the strip, why not take a helicopter tour? Fly above Las Vegas for unparalleled views of the city’s lights and landmarks, with various companies offering tours in along the strip. We took an evening tour to see the strip at night.
19. New York-New York’s Roller Coaster
For something a little different, head to the NY, NY hotel and jump on the rollercoaster here. This thrilling coaster takes you through loops and drops around a replica of the New York skyline. It’s a fun way to experience a little adrenaline on the Strip.
Once you are finished with the Roller Coaster, check out the themed New York hotel, visit the Hershey store, and try your luck in the casino.
20. Flamingo Wildlife Habitat
Located at the Flamingo Hotel, this free habitat houses exotic birds, fish, and flamingos. It’s a relaxing spot in the middle of the bustling Strip and a fun free thing to do in Vegas.
21. Downtown Container Park
Built from repurposed shipping containers, this open-air mall offers boutique shopping, restaurants, and a giant fire-breathing praying mantis sculpture. This is a different vibe to the rest of the strip, ideal for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle.
22. The LINQ Promenade
The LINQ Promenade is another popular site on your Las Vegas bucket list. This is an outdoor entertainment district that includes shopping, dining, and the High Roller Observation Wheel.
It’s a lively area that often has street performers and live music, so staying in one of the hotels nearby can be a great option.
