1. Italy’s Northern Lakes
Do you want to sit beside a stunning lake, take some pictures, and enjoy your meal in nature? Italy has numerous lakes that are perfect to add to your road trip map, especially if you like to make multiple stops along the way. For years on end, Italy’s lakes have been a popular destination for many road trip enthusiasts.
One of the most famous routes begins in Milan and goes to Lake Maggiore, Lake Como, Bellagio, Varenna, Lake Garda, and Sirmione; where you can visit some of the hidden gems in Italy too. It may not be a huge distance, but you don’t want to rush through every lake area. Ideally, you should stop at some destinations and take your time experiencing everything they have to offer.
You can switch from Lake Como to Bellagio’s luxurious gems or stop for a coffee before you take off again. When you reach a new lake, you can also settle yourself there. The Northern Lakes road trip spreads over a distance of about 400 kilometers, so give yourself between 5 and 7 days to enjoy this adventure.
